Gene Glass Eugene (Gene) Glass was born in Austin, Texas on September 21, 1955. He passed away February 2, 2008, in Austin, Texas at the age of 52.
Gene was a life-time resident of Austin. He graduated from Reagan High School in 1974. He earned a degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin in 1978 and later received a MBA from St. Edwards University.
Gene worked for Motorola and Freescale for nearly 30 years as an accountant and business manager in the Finance and Manufacturing areas. Gene had a zest for life and lived every day to its fullest. He had many hobbies and interests, including cooking, reading, photography, kayaking, and hiking. Gene was deeply devoted to his family and to his many friends.
Gene is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sarah Proske Glass, and his children Matthew, Rachel, and Laura Glass. He is also survived by his sister Bonnie Orsag of Austin, and four brothers: John Glass of Shoreham, New York, Warren Glass of Austin, Tom Glass of Pflugerville, and Joe Glass of Paige, Texas. He was pre-deceased by his parents John and Nadine Glass. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5th at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6th at Riverbend Church, 4214 N. Capital of Texas Hwy. The burial will follow at Cook-Walden / Capital Parks in Pflugerville, Texas.
